Golden Thread Chai market stall — hand-built from reclaimed materials, Newcastle NSW

Out in the World

The best way to meet Golden Thread is in person.

We travel to curated markets and festivals across NSW with our stall — a hand-built space made from reclaimed and upcycled materials. The tablecloth is cut and sewn from upcycled tent canvas. The signage is hand-painted. The leather chai sign was cut from offcuts of our previous craft. Nothing was bought off a market supply catalogue. Everything was made.

At the stall we brew chai fresh on site in a 30 litre pot — slow, aromatic, and made the same way we make it at home. A $7 cup is the best way to meet the blend before you take a bag home.

Winterheat Festival 2026

In August 2026 we collaborated with @fingerscrossedcreative to bring a full chai tent experience to Winterheat Festival at Pacific Park, Newcastle. Twelve spices, a 30 litre pot, and 12,000 people coming in from the cold. It was one of the best nights we've had.

Where we trade

We trade at a selection of values-aligned markets and festivals across the Hunter region each year — including Made & Found Market in Newcastle, the Sustainable Living Festival at Port Stephens, and The Gum Ball Music & Arts Festival in the Hunter Valley.

Upcoming dates will be posted here and on our Instagram as they're confirmed.
